what are the skill-related components of fitness?

Agility, Balance, Coordination, Power, Reaction Time, Speed

why does a person not have to be a good athlete to be physically fit?

Because some great athletes are not healthy, as long as u exercise and eat healthy daily, you can not be an athlete and be fit
